Parish Priest
Father Michal is married with four children, wife Louris, sons Hanna, David, Nectarios, and daughter Christeen Born in Beirut, Lebanon, 7th March 1961, completed primary and secondary schooling at the Three Moons College, Beirut. Migrated to Syria during Lebanon's civil war, attained Bacaloria (HSC) studies in 1981, Damascus, Syria. Entered Damascus University to study French Literature.
In 1995/96 commenced theological studies at Saint George Monastery in Homayra Homs, Syria. Ordained as Decon on 15th September 1996 and served in the Patriarchate in Damascus for 12 months, Graduated from St. George Monastery of Theology College in 1997.
Became a priest on 5th August 1997 and served for another 12 months at the Patriarchate. Appointed parish priest of Saint Elias the Zealot church Damascus, Syria until appointed to the Saint Elias parish of Wollongong where along with his family he migrated on the 24th of September 2000.Along with all these achievement he had completed an English course for theology at St. Paul’s theology school Punchbowl, Sydney.
